PRESENTER: Dana Morris
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER: Dana Morris knows what it’s like to have a crazy life - A single mother of four children and a busy entrepreneur - Since 2011, YOGA has been the one consistent thing that has kept her (somewhat) grounded through it all.
Dana’s yoga classes offer students a place to disconnect from the outside world and explore and connect with movement and their breath. Her playfulness creates a welcoming, non-competitive atmosphere for reflection and personal growth - both physically and mentally.
Dana is the owner and program director of I AM KIDS Tulsa and co-creator of the I AM Peace, Love & Yoga Camp. In addition, she is the Kid Zone Coordinator for the I AM Yoga, Music & Art Festival. She’s is also the co-creator of the Hope Yoga Project, a ground breaking clinical research study documenting the effects of yoga with children and teens with PTSD and/or trauma. Dana teaches weekly trauma sensitive yoga classes at several psychiatric hospitals in Tulsa and is part of the Humble Warrior Collective. Her yoga certifications include: I AM Yoga 200 RYT, Radiant Child Yoga, Next Generation Yoga, Cosmic Kids Yoga, James Fox’s Prison Yoga Project, AeroZen Yoga and is a Journey of a Young Woman Mentor. She has also been a Biz of Kids Yoga member since 2016. She is also a member of the National Storytelling Network and the Healing Story Alliance, an organization that explores the use of storytelling to heal trauma.
Not only does Dana offer adult and youth yoga classes, but she also trains and mentors teachers and other professionals how to incorporate mindful movement and create a trauma sensitive classroom or work environment.
